Paul Sephton
My career in nursing spans 30 years, originally working as an Auxiliary Nurse then Enrolled Nurse and converting to Registered Nurse in 1993. My areas of work include orthopaedics, general medicine and palliative care.
I joined the pulmonary hypertension team in 2006 as a Nurse Specialist; a large part of this role is the care and support of patients in the community. Covering the large geographical area we do, this poses the challenge of liaising and developing working relationships with many multi-professional teams to ensure local support and care of our patient group.
In 2014 I became the Ward Manager of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The unit opened in August 2010 and from this base we run and support clinics, elective admissions for diagnostic tests and an inpatient treatment centre.
My academic qualifications include a BA (Hons) Palliative Care degree and a module at Masters level in the Management of Pulmonary Hypertension.
