
Dr Stephen Bianchi MBChB, BSc (Hons), PhD, FRCP(Lon), MBA
Dr Bianchi qualified from the Victoria University of Manchester in 1995 attaining MBChB. He had previously undertaken a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Immunology and Oncology (1992) at the same University attaining First Class status. He subsequently trained within the North West and Northern Regions at junior doctor and Specialist Registrar level, rotating through a wide variety of specialist areas including pulmonary transplantation, sleep medicine, cystic fibrosis medicine and general respiratory medicine. He spent 3 years at Sheffield University completing a PhD in the area of respiratory infection and immunity. He has published and presented widely on both national and international stages.
Dr Bianchi is currently a Consultant and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine working at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. He has special clinical interests in sleep disordered breathing, assisted ventilation and pulmonary oncology. These interests complement a diverse general respiratory and internal medical practice.
Dr Bianchi is a member of a number of national and international medical societies including the British Thoracic Society, British Sleep Society and European Thoracic Society. He is married and has two children.
