COPD: trial of drug for Acute Exacerbations 27th March 2018
A new anti-inflammatory drug Nemiralisib is being developed by the pharmaceutical company GSK as a treatment for airways disease like COPD. An international clinical trial will look in particular at treatment of COPD exacerbations when people’s symptoms suddenly become worse and they may require hospitalisation. Dr Rod Lawson and a team from the STH Respiratory Physiology Department and NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility will undertake the trial at the Northern General Hospital.
